Shelby Higley

From a young age, Shelby was put into gymnastics and dance. She spent a few years at North Georgia Dance and Music Factory in Dacula, Georgia before moving to Louisville, Kentucky. It was then that she realized her passion for ballet and at the age of 13, started pursing a career as a ballerina. She attended numerous dance schools in the area including Gillman's Dance Academy, Louisville Academy of Dance, and Louisville Ballet. Plus a number of summer intensives including Ballet West, Atlanta Ballet, and CPYB.
In 2009, Shelby had the opportunity to dance two seasons as a trainee with the Louisville Ballet where she performed in ballets like The Nutcracker, Swan Lake, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, Giselle, Coppélia, The Three Musketeers, La Bayadère, and a number of contemporary works choreographed by Adam Hoagland, Val Caniparoli, and company members of the Louisville Ballet.
After a short break from ballet and a move to Las Vegas in 2013, Shelby discovered the aerial arts and fell in love instantly. She has received training in aerial hoop, aerial silks, pole dance, handstands, acro partnering, hula hoop from Polecats Aerial Fitness and Shine Alternative Fitness. This past year, she also has trained contortion with Anya Shevelyuk as her coach.
